Why Are U.S. K-12 Standardized Test Scores Stagnant? | Raiders Of The Lost Ark | U.S. Education
Raiders of the Lost Ark and U.S. Stagnant Test Scores: Are We Digging in the Wrong Place?
Paper given for the 14th Annual Future of Education Conference (FOE)
The striking lack of progress in American K-12 student achievement over the last two or three decades for reading and mathematics, and over the last 10 years for science calls to mind a line from the movie, Raiders of the Lost Ark. Sallah, played by John Rhys-Davies, realizes where the Germans are looking for the lost Ark and declares to Indiana Jones, "They're digging in the wrong place!". We, too, have been digging in the wrong place in our search for higher test scores. We have been using the wrong model of knowledge and teaching and learning. To the degree that learning is thinking, it is, as Dewey says, research, and research is knowledge creation. So, knowledge is not something that teachers give and
students get. It is what students create in the process of learning. Learning is knowledae creation and teaching is facilitating this creative process. This inquiry-creativity model of teaching and learning should inform our ettorts to improve student achievement.

Aggie War Hymn HD - The Spirit of Texas A&M - Traditions in Aggieland
Переглядів 309 тис.5 років тому
Hear the Texas A&M fight song in HD, the Aggie War Hymn, played by the Fightin' Texas Aggie Band. Traditions are an important part of the culture and history of the university in College Station, and this video tries to capture a few of those traditions during football season, offering a taste of the real Spirit of Aggieland! Lyrics to Aggie War Hymn Hullabaloo, Caneck Caneck! Hullabaloo, Canec...
Fuck the Sooners, fuck the Longhorns. Have a nice day
Fuck dem sooners not em longhorns
The madcot dog is so cute
Her name is Reveille and she's the first lady of Aggieland (texas am)
Brings tears to my eyes everytime...
I love it! Always have, always will.
The world best marching band
I would like to show this at school for college week ...can someone please remove "sounds like hell"?? I believe it shows 3 times ....
You know the aggies pay Texas for the "saw'em off" logo?
Cult of Aggie
Imagine being born and raised a mile from Kyle field. Then we can talk 😉
All this for a football team that stinks.
It's called devotion
It was interesting to see all that Aggie Spirit personified. As for the football hype, many people don't know this but there's a word that describes when the extreme physicality extends for longer than four seconds at a time, and is combined with fluidity of movement and flexibility of action, thinking on one's feet and adapting to an ever-changing environment, and just awesomeness in general. It's called "rugby".
Whooooooop!
The short horns are gonna catch hell come SEC play.
Yes they are
Fun fact: during the “saw varsity’s horns off,” the crowd swings in opposite directions to mimic a saw going back and forth. This isn’t the fun fact. The fun fact is that the press box sways with the crowd, there’s even a sign telling newcomers that it’s normal and A-OK
0:25 skip to song
If you hear this song & find something in your eye, you know your blood is maroon. DS’87
To Bullet Bod Butrico a great friend and a better room mate.
Hook em
Late one night, when the t-sips were in bed Ol Sul Ross took a lantern in the shed The Aggie kicked it over, he winked and then he said It'll be a hot time in Austin tonight
2:49 when the rough rider theme starts playing gives me chills every time and I'm a die-hard Alabama fan
Then we have something in common. Although, Auburn's fight song is superior, A&M's song is a close second. Surprised to see a Bama fan with a great taste in music.
Bama/49ers fan 🤨
Awesome go aggies
Personally ... I would rather see the top level University bands and military bands at the half time of the Super Bowl than the crap they give up. To those who do not know the words of the Aggie fight song look them up > the entire song is meant toward one school > no other University does that .. so glad that A&M vs UT will be coming back soon
I wish other schools, my own included, had the gut's to rag on their most hatred rivals.
No bonfire anymore? Sorry, too soon?
GIG ‘EM!!! 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
I was at IOBC 2-93 with 200 other new butter bars from all over the US including the academy, me (Baylor), one other guy, and eight Aggie’s made the commandants list.
Non-Aggies will never understand.
As a Auburn fan I understand the deep hatred, the undying pride in your school, win or loose.
Always swells me with Aggie Pride and brings a tear.
I'm a 1974 graduate of Texas A&M. My stepson & I visited campus this past year for the Auburn game. It was my first trip back in over in 47 years. I had planned previously to return but something always came up. This time the stars aligned I was able to go. While much was the same, much was different. The campus had grown by leaps & bounds. There were new buildings everywhere, Kyle Field was enormous. Of course some things never change. A howdy was still the greeting, the campus was still immaculate. I then heard The War Hymn live & @ that moment I knew I was home. Once an Aggie, always an Aggie. It's not a sentiment, it's a fact
If I could turn the clock back 30 years I would have made better decisions and attended Texas A&M. Maybe in my next lifetime.
Gig 'em, Aggies !!
I'm an Aggie but I would Never cut the horns off!
im a gamecock so i can tell what is a diss and what is not . THIS ENTIRE SONG IS A DISS TO TEXAS UNIVERSITY!!!
Yes. And…?
The Aggie War Hymn! No other "fight song" of any university compares.

The Aggie War Hymn and Scotland The Brave says it all.

I'm a Sooner but the Aggie war hymn is something that will get you fired up no matter if you're a college football fan

@@michellehougland8681 Well we all have something in common

Agree. And our Sooners will play the Aggies again next year 😃 and as a Sooner, I can say I am actually also looking forward to the Texas/Texas A&M rivalry resuming

Number one band in Texas....in the south......in America. Texas A&M Band has never lost a halftime.
Longhorn band is better
@The_one_knocks25 rather be an Aggie than a t-sipper from t.u.
Absolutely love the Aggie spirit! This year was beautiful! No masks, no fear, just pure togetherness.
I don't care who you root for, that's a great video!
My son and his wife are both former students and I am so proud of them!!! Go, Aggies!
Whoever edited this has seen Evangelion
Actually I haven't but I will check it out now :)

WAR HYMN!
1:43 Is it really okay to let Miss Rev sniff the camera like that?
She's the first lady of aggieland
GO TIGERS LSU FOR LIFE GIG EM👎👎👎
I am an Austin Native... I was burnt orange through to the bone. My son Abraham Samilpa attended A&M and is part of 2019 class. I would go to his Corp Cadet ceremonies and was very proud of the man y'all were turning him into. It was his Senior year and he invited me to a game which, for him, started in the corp assembly courtyard. All the yelling and pride made me feel good. Then I hear the A&M band marching and playing the A&M War Hymm..... I was getting hooked the right way. The game started and it was great but what really Hooked me was when everyone had their arms around the Aggie on either side... Then the swaying started.... Man that was the feeling I never got during a shorthorn game. Thanks for giving my son an opportunity to better himself so he wont have to work hard like me. Texas A&M! GIG'EM WHOOP!
I have a buddy I attended high school with who is an A&M graduate as was his Father and Grandfather! Our youngest son-in-law is an Army Lieutenant Colonel and also an A&M graduate. Great traditions at Texas A&M!
Our grandson is in the Core Cadets and is a leader in the Rudders Rangers. He turned down an appointment to West Point and took a full ride scholarship to Aggie Land. Wants to be an officer in the Army like his mom and dad ( our son had 2 commands in Iraq ) we were shocked he turned down West Point but COVID was running rampant! He loves Texas A&M and the Core did a great job recruiting him. Plus he is close to home. It is an outstanding program. PLUS THEY BEAT THE HELL OUT OF ALABAMA!105,000 people at Kyle stadium!!! Oh , and, GOD BLESS TEXAS!!!!!
Gig'em Aggies
My husband and son are both former Aggies
I was in the Corps with Abraham, he was class of 18 I think. I was class of 20. We were both in Color Guard together.
I just finished reading biography of USAF 4-star Bernard Schriever, and how he started his military career as an Aggie. Interesting guy: smart, fearless, a man of vision.
